Playback Theatre

For me - performance on stage is a moment of a deep spiritual connection with the audience. It has always been my dream to be involved in the theatre.

As I have found out - Playback is my favorite form of acting where music plays a quintessential role, making the whole Act much more powerful. What I also cherish there is a freedom of expression, since everything is based on improvisation. I like the effect of a "flow with the moment" where everything is happening spontaneously without any preparation, starting with the real life story telling and ending with its total transformation through acting and music. It really is a privilege to be part of such an experience.

What is Playback Theatre?

Playback is unique improvisational theatre that breaks down the barrier between actors and audience. It is created spontaneously through collaboration between performers and audience resulting in a unique experience not possible in conventional theatre.

Audience members tell snippets or stories from their lives and the actors play the story back using movement, drama, and music. On the spot - no rehearsal, no planning - complete improvisation. It's startling, moving, and very often, very funny!

The experience is voluntary your particpation is welcomed and encouraged but not compulsory so shy audience members are welcome to sit back, relax and enjoy the drama unfolding in front of them...
